PURE

Anthony Macedo is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences of Universidade Lusófona, Porto, Portugal. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics at the University of Minho and obtained a PhD in Business and Economics from the University of Aveiro in 2023, with the thesis Essays in Sports Economics: The European Super League of Football. His doctoral studies were supported by an FCT scholarship.

Before joining Universidade Lusófona, he held research and teaching positions at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, the University of Minho, and collaborated with the Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG) through the REMOBIL project, as well as with the Innovation Platform of Vine & Wine (INNOVINE&WINE) project.

His scientific output includes peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, and datasets. He also serves as a reviewer for research funding applications and is a member of the editorial board of Humanities and Social Sciences Communications.

His main research topics include sports economics, international trade, wine economics, teleworking, regional and urban economics, international competitiveness, non-tariff measures, and the economic impacts of COVID-19.
