Anthony is a professor at the Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences at the Oporto University Centre of Lusófona University. He completed his undergraduate and master's degrees in Economics at the University of Minho. In 2023, he obtained his PhD in Business and Economics from the University of Aveiro, with the thesis “Essays in Sports Economics: The European Super League of Football”, for which he was awarded an FCT scholarship. His current main research focus is sports economics, although he has published in the fields of international trade and wine economics and has wide-ranging interests. He was a researcher on the projects “REthinking MOBILity, location patterns and urban form after the COVID19 pandemic. The effects of telework and e-shopping”, at the Lisbon School of Economics and Management, and Innovation Platform of Vine & Wine, at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.
