Carlos Seixas is an economist specializing in public and political economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP). He is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona and an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. 
His research focuses on micro-founded political economy and public policy with econometric applications, the perceptions of voters and citizens through behavioral economics, and multiple dimensions of corruption. His publications include articles in Social Choice and Welfare, West European Politics, and Public Integrity, among others. 
He has participated in competitive research projects and regularly contributes to public debate via media commentary on economic and policy issues. 
Previously, he taught at Católica Porto Business School; served as an Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro, Universidade Católica de Moçambique, and FEP; and was an Assistant Professor at Universidade Portucalense. He has also been an Invited Researcher at the University of Kassel.
