Eva Chaves holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the Portuguese Catholic University (Braga), a Master's degree in Psychology of Justice and Deviant Behaviour from the Portuguese Catholic University (Porto), a PhD in Psychology of Justice from Fernando Pessoa University (2013), and a PhD in Social Work (2023) from the University of Coimbra and the Portuguese Catholic University.
She has been an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona – University Centre of Porto since 2018 and is a researcher at INTREPID Lab, a research hub integrated into CETRAD – Centre for Transdisciplinary Development Studies.
Her main research topics include social work, criminal justice, social reintegration, community service, restorative justice, prison and post-prison intervention, children exposed to domestic violence, victimisation, and social inclusion.
