Fátima Carneiro is Director of Process Transformation and Digitalization at ALTRI and a PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP). She is also an Associate Researcher at the Kaizen Institute and was previously affiliated with the Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as part of an international project on Digital Transformation and Sustainability in Industry. Before joining ALTRI, she led the Advanced Problem-Solving Department at Kaizen Institute Western Europe.
Her experience includes leading Operational Excellence and Digital Transformation programs through the application of Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies across industries such as pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, automotive, food, wine, metalworking, textiles, retail, and the public sector. She has developed projects with significant impact on productivity, sustainability, and quality, leveraging Artificial Intelligence tools.
She is the author and reviewer of scientific articles published in leading international journals and is part of an international research group dedicated to operational excellence and sustainability.
