João Miguel Oliveira Cotrim, PhD, is an Invited Assistant Professor at Lusófona University and a researcher associated with INTREPID LAB – Research for Business and Society and the FCESE – Faculty of Economic, Social and Business Sciences. He is also a Senior Research Associate at Universidad Anáhuac México and an Affiliated Researcher at EGADE Business School, Tecnológico de Monterrey, developing an international academic and research activity across Europe and Latin America.
He holds a PhD in Management from ISCTE Business School, as well as an MBA and Master's degrees in International Relations and Media & Cultural Analysis. His research focuses on Responsible Innovation, Ethical Artificial Intelligence, Digital Trust, AI Governance and Conscious Business, with particular attention to the ways emerging technologies reshape trust, legitimacy, governance, leadership and responsibility in organisations and digital ecosystems. His work also addresses the Sharing Economy, platform ecosystems, organisational identity and human-centred innovation.
His recent research within INTREPID includes work on the relationship between Artificial Intelligence, emotion recognition, trust and legitimacy in digital platforms, with research presented at EURAM 2026.
