João Carlos Rouco is Associate Professor of Human Resource Management at Lusófona University, within the School of Economic Sciences and Organizations. He holds a PhD from Lusíada University (2012), a Master’s degree in Sports Training Management from the Faculty of Human Motricity at the Technical University of Lisbon, and graduated from the Portuguese Military Academy.
He is currently Director of the Department of Civil Aviation and Airports Management and Director of the Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Management at Lusófona University. He is also involved in several professional and sectoral organizations, including the Aeronautics, Space, and Defence Sectorial Commissions of AED Cluster Portugal, and participates in initiatives focused on skills development and professional training.
His research focuses on human resource management, leadership, organizational behaviour, strategic management, and skills development, with particular interest in leadership models, decision-making, team management, and organizational performance in complex environments. His work also includes research related to crisis management, stress management, and leadership in security and defence contexts.
Throughout his academic and professional career, João Carlos Rouco has coordinated and participated in several research projects, including projects related to command and leadership models, knowledge management, simulation technologies, and training in complex operational environments. He has published scientific articles in national and international journals, presented research at conferences, and regularly contributes as a reviewer for international scientific publications.
