José Manuel Vicente is Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona (Lisbon) and a researcher at INTREPID Lab – Research for Business and Society. He holds a PhD in Management, with a specialization in Aeronautical Management, from the University of Évora, a Master’s degree in Business Management from the same institution, an Executive MBA in Air Transport Management/Civil Aviation from Universidade Lusófona, in partnership with Cranfield University (UK) and INAC, I.P., and a degree in Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Since joining Universidade Lusófona in 2009, José Manuel Vicente has developed academic and management responsibilities, including the direction of the degree programme in Aeronautical Management and the coordination of a specialization course in Airport Operations developed in partnership with ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal. He has also served as a member of the Pedagogical Council and Scientific Council of the School of Economic and Organizational Sciences. His academic activity includes the supervision of 25 master’s dissertations and the co-supervision of three doctoral theses.
His research focuses on Management, Aeronautical Management, Tourism, Education and Sustainability, with particular interest in areas related to air transport, airport management, digital marketing, leadership, learning processes and organizational development. His work also explores socio-economic development in island contexts, including topics such as tourism, mobility, infrastructure management, transport, sustainability, quality perception and community development.
José Manuel Vicente has authored more than 30 publications in international conference proceedings and more than 20 scientific articles indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. He has also published two international books on Digital Marketing and Methodologies, as well as six international book chapters in the fields of Education and Aeronautical Management. He has collaborated with international and national researchers in scientific publications, participated in several academic conferences, and acts as reviewer for international journals indexed in Scopus. He is also a member of the Scientific Board of the International Journal of Social Science and Innovative Technology and of ADEGI – Association for the Development of Global and Island Studies.
