Miguel Nuno Africano Fernandes Barata Portugal is Assistant Professor at ISMAT – Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes and Director of the Tourism Management Degree, where he also coordinates Internships and Employability activities. He is a collaborating researcher at INTREPID Lab – Research for Business and Society (CETRAD).
He holds a PhD in Management, with a research focus on Human Resources applied to Hospitality, a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, and a degree in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations from Universidade Europeia. His academic background combines Management, Tourism, Hospitality and Communication, supported by experience in teaching, research and academic coordination.
His research focuses on Tourism Management, Hospitality, Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management, with particular interest in creativity, innovation, intrapreneurship, communication, marketing and event management. His work explores organisational and strategic challenges within tourism and hospitality contexts, including the role of people, innovation and management practices in the development of organisations and services.
Miguel Nuno Africano Fernandes Barata Portugal is the author of scientific articles and technical books, has organised national and international academic events, and has supervised 23 master’s dissertations. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of international journals in the fields of Management and Tourism, contributing to the dissemination and evaluation of research in these areas.
