Regina Queiroz is Associate Professor at Universidade Lusófona and a researcher at INTREPID Lab – Research for Business and Society. She is also Principal Investigator at the Centro de Estudos Avançados de Direito (CEAD) and collaborates with the Institute of Philosophy at NOVA University Lisbon.
She holds a PhD in Political and Social Philosophy, a Master’s degree in Philosophy and a degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon. Her academic background is centred on political philosophy and social theory, with research addressing fundamental questions about society, institutions and the principles underlying collective life.
Her research focuses on Political Philosophy, Social Justice and Democratic Theory, with particular interest in theories of justice, Aristotelian practical wisdom (phronesis), liberal democracy, liberalism and neoliberalism. Her work explores philosophical and theoretical approaches to political organisation, governance and the relationship between individual rights and social structures.
Regina Queiroz has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals, as well as books and book chapters with academic publishers in the fields of philosophy, political theory and social sciences. She has participated in research projects and contributes to the international scientific community as an Editorial Board Member of Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (Springer Nature) and Critical Policy Studies (Taylor & Francis). In 2026, she received the Editor of Distinction Award – Editorial Contribution Award from Springer Nature, recognising her contribution to academic publishing and research evaluation in the humanities and social sciences.
