-- Gabriela Leite holds a PhD in Management from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, with a thesis focused on Investor Behaviour and Herding Behaviour in the Portuguese Capital Market. She also holds a Master’s degree in Management – specialising in Corporate Finance – and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Minho. She is a member of the Portuguese Order of Economists and the Order of Certified Accountants, combining rigorous academic training with a broad and strategically oriented professional background.
She is currently an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University of Porto, where she also serves as Director of the Bachelor’s degree in Management and Co-Director of the Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Management. She teaches across the fields of Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Investment Analysis. With three decades of experience in higher education, she has lectured at institutions including the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, ISCAP (School of Accounting and Administration of Porto, Polytechnic Institute of Porto – P.PORTO), ESTG (School of Technology and Management, Polytechnic Institute of Porto – P.PORTO), IPCA (Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave), and the former Moderna University of Porto – and is recognised for making technically demanding subjects accessible while fostering strong connections between theory and organisational practice.
Between 2007 and 2025, she held senior leadership positions at Porto City Council, first as Municipal Director of Environment and Urban Services, and subsequently as Director of the Municipal Department of Green Spaces and Infrastructure Management. In these roles, she coordinated multidisciplinary teams, managed substantial human and financial resources, and led flagship projects in urban sustainability, biodiversity, the circular economy, and climate change adaptation.
Her research interests lie in Corporate Finance, Financial Markets, and Investor Behaviour, with an applied perspective that emphasises the practical relevance of knowledge. She regularly participates in national and international academic conferences and contributes to scholarly output through journal articles, book chapters, and co-authored papers with fellow researchers.
Gabriela Leite has built a professional path that consistently bridges institutional leadership, university teaching, and scientific research. She is widely recognised for her integrity, clarity of thought, strategic vision, and commitment to public service and to educating future generations.
