Teresa Gabriela Marques Leite

Teresa Gabriela Marques Leite is Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona do Porto and a researcher at INTREPID Lab – Research for Business and Society. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, a Master’s degree in Business Management with a specialisation in Corporate Finance from the University of Minho, and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the same institution.
She currently serves as Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Co-Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial Management at Universidade Lusófona do Porto, combining teaching, academic coordination and research activities. Throughout her academic career, she has taught at several higher education institutions, including the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, ISCAP – School of Accounting and Administration of Porto, IPCA – Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, and Universidade Lusófona do Porto.
Her professional experience also includes significant leadership responsibilities in public administration. Between 2007 and 2025, she held senior management positions at Porto City Council, including Municipal Director roles related to Environment, Urban Services, Green Spaces and Infrastructure Management, where she coordinated multidisciplinary teams and managed projects in areas such as urban sustainability, biodiversity, circular economy and climate change adaptation.
Her research focuses on Management, Corporate Finance and Financial Markets, with particular interest in investor behaviour, financial decision-making and organisational management. Her doctoral research examined investor behaviour and herding behaviour in the Portuguese capital market, contributing to the understanding of decision-making processes in financial contexts.
Teresa Gabriela Marques Leite has contributed to scientific publications through journal articles, book chapters and conference papers, and participates in research activities connecting management theory with applied organisational and societal challenges. She is also a member of professional organisations in the fields of economics and accounting.
