Tiago Barreiro is Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona and a researcher at INTREPID Lab – Research for Business and Society. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Sussex and a degree in Technological Physics Engineering from Universidade de Lisboa.

His academic background is centred on theoretical physics and cosmology, with research contributions focused on understanding fundamental questions about the universe and its evolution. His research focuses on Physics, Cosmology and Theoretical Astrophysics, with particular interest in dark energy, modified gravity theories, interacting dark matter and cosmological models.

Tiago Barreiro has published scientific articles in international journals and has contributed to the training of young researchers through the co-supervision of doctoral and master’s students. His research explores theoretical approaches to some of the major challenges in modern physics, contributing to the broader understanding of the fundamental processes that shape the universe.
